Fourth edition of the Amsterdam Viola Festival and Third edition of the National Viola Competition with an international jury. The competition will be held on 7 and 8 March.

Nederland - Ruslandjaar 2013
The Dutch and Russian governments are organizing a special year of economic programmes and collaborations, reason enough for us to present a festival and competition combining Dutch and Russian viola repertoire at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with faculty, students and distinguished guests.

How to apply for the Viola Competition
Conditions
Participants should have the Dutch nationality or be living in the Netherlands (including students from abroad who study at a Dutch institution). Age limit is 35 years.
repertoire
Bach: two contrasting movements of one of the suites for cello solo
Louis Toebosch: Toccata for viola solo
Shostakovich: Sonata for viola and piano, first and second movement
Competition jury
Jürgen Kussmaul, Vera Beths, Frans van Ruth and Esther van Stralen
Application
Please apply by sending your CV and recording of two movements of contrasting repertoire. Please state whether you would like to play with an accompanist of the CvA viola department or bring your own pianist.
