Fine Art and Design in Education full-time programme
In the bachelor programme of Fine Art and Design in Education you help your pupils to develop their creative, imaginative capacities and to extend their insights into visual culture based on the unity of the visual arts. You perform a variety of roles, varying from communication artist to coach and coordinator. In order to prepare yourself properly for today’s professional practice, every discipline is covered during the course: two-dimensional work, three-dimensional work, and new media. You can choose one of these disciplines in the graduation stage as a specialisation. You develop an extensive knowledge of the history of arts and culture, as well as teaching methods for particular targetgroups, educational theory and cultural and artistic training.
Up to date
A lot is expected from you as a future teacher. It is important to be capable of conveying knowledge about the traditions of fine art and today’s visual culture clearly to pupils. To do so, you must be up to date and keep up with the developments within the contemporary art practice. You are capable to create original visual work that is the product of research, experiments, reflection and your own personal fascinations. You are very interested both in art as well as in education. You learn about the applications of the digital media used within the educational field. And you are able to use digital media as an instrument both in your creative process as well as in your teaching process. You also learn how to act as an artistic coordinator for the subject Cultural and Artistic Education (CKV).

“This course gives you the opportunity to use your knowledge and ideas in the lessons you create. After my graduation I want to teach primary school childeren at an art educational organisation. At that particular age children can develop themselves rapidly in their visual experience as well as in their own art work. You can really make a difference and you make the children very happy in teaching them fine arts.”
