Language requirements

All courses at the Amsterdam School of the Arts are officially taught in Dutch, except the Master of Museology offered by the Reinwardt Academy, the Master Film by the Dutch Film and Television Academy and DasArts - Master of Theatre, that are fully taught in English. However, due to the international nature of the arts practices, many courses are also taught in English, especially at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the dance department of de Theaterschool.

Unless specifically mentioned in the course programme, sufficient knowledge of the Dutch language is obligatory. For courses taught in English the international student should at least meet the requirements for a IELTS or comparable test score of at least 5 (five) for bachelor level and a score of 6 (six) for the master level.
