Selection and orientation
Selection takes place by way of three auditions. The first consists of a classical and a contemporary dance technique lesson. The second is made up of a comprehensive contemporary dance technique lesson and an instant composition. During the third audition, the Dutch and foreign students are united. They follow a contemporary dance lesson, repertoire and an improvisation lesson. Finally, students undergo a medical and physical test and possibly a motivation interview. Candidates from 17 up to and including the age of 22 can apply to take part in the selection procedure. As minimum requirement, a candidate for the Modern Theatre Dance study programme must possess a HAVO diploma and have completed a preparatory study at the Theaterschool or elsewhere before applying for admission.
