Early Music Summer School

August 18-23, 2014

The Amsterdam Early Music Summer School is an Early Music course targeting the historically informed performance of Baroque and Classical music. The course is open to participants of all ages (instrumentalists as well as vocalists) and will include private lessons from expert teachers from the Early Music Faculty at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, as well as workshops, masterclasses, lectures, concerts, and lots of chances to play with fellow students from all over the world.

This year's summer school is open to any repertoire from the baroque (performed preferrably in a = 415 Hz)and classical period (performed preferrably in a = 430 Hz). We strongly recommend to prepare chamber music repertoire, also involving vocalists.

Lectures and lunchtime concerts
Throughout the week there will be lunchtime concerts and lecture-recitals given by the faculty of the Early Music Department.

A final concert will be given by the students on Saturday August, at 3.00 p.m. at the Oude Lutherse Kerk in Amsterdam.
