Michiel Koelink
Michiel Koelink graduated in Media Art (Enschede, 2000) and received a Master's degree in Fine Arts at the Frank Mohr Institute in Groningen in 2002. He is an independent artist and is also active in the media art field as talent scout, curator, teacher and educational designer.
Koelink creates works using different media including photography, video, found footage and computer algorithms. He teaches media art & design courses and media-didactics at the
Academy of Fine Art in Education in Amsterdam. Michiel Koelink has initiated media-based educational projects like Nova Local (kids cover local news for a National TV Network) and Filmen Met Je Mobiel (movies with your cellphone).
Koelink advocates the use of everyday, easy accessible media technologies by media & art educators. He stimulates teachers to use technological ‘Easyware’ in their curriculum, as opposed to expensive and inaccessible ‘Hardware’.
