Mission

The mission is an introduction to the world and vision of DasArts - Master of Theatre in Amsterdam. “We are not the same, so let’s map out our differences.” Our master programme is based on sixteen years of experience as a hybrid of education, production and research. Rather than impose a specific theatrical paradigm, DasArts seeks to encourage a spirit of experimentation and organizes significant encounters.

Short biography of the director
Barbara Van Lindt (Belgium, 1966) is managing director of DasArts since 1 June 2009. She is responsible for the artistic and educational development of the institute.

In the Nineties Barbara Van Lindt worked for Antwerp Cultural Capital as staff member for the performing arts. In 1997 Van Lindt founded the Gasthuis in Amsterdam, an important laboratory for young theatre makers, now part of Theater Frascati.

In 2002 she returned to Belgium where she continued to create room for experiment and development at wp Zimmer, a production house focused on dance and performance. From 2006 to 2009 she worked as programmer for the Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussels.
