MTD 2 – Rift
Choreography: Olatz de Andrés
Assistant: Robert Jackson

Rift presents acontinually transforming landscape of interconnected bodies.
A map in construction.
A sense of redefinition over time.
Rift has been devised with the MTD2 students in search of a constantly folding and unfolding collective body.

Olatz de Andrés is a dance maker based in the Basque Country (Northern Spain) who creates choreographic projects through the company Lŏkke. Her artistic proposals focus on creating abstract choreographic situations, relating stillness to movement and playing with the existent tension between the individual and the collective.

Her works include: Doppelgänger (2019), Euterpe (2019), The Big Game (2019), Eu Sou Passageiro (2018), The Endgame (2016), The Game (2015), Bardo (2015), Esfera (2015), El Cielo Ahora (2014), Privolva Landing (2013), Privolva (2011), dA CAPO (2009), Yo soy una cosa que dura (2007). These have been presented in the Basque Country, Spain, France, Germany, UK, Portugal and Italy.

MTD 3 - Part Study
Choreography: Amos Ben-Tal
Music: Amos Ben-Tal and J.S. Bach
Assistant: Wolf Govaerts

Part Study is a part piece, part study for a future piece titled Part.
Over the past several weeks Amos and the dancers have been exploring the space in-between dualities such as expansion/compression, control/abandon and choice/obligation. This piece is the result of their efforts.

Amos Ben-Tal (Israel, 1979) completed his training at The National Ballet School in Toronto, Canada. He then danced with Nederlands Dans Theater for nine years, where he also made his choreographic debut in 2005 with the piece Track. The work was hailed as ‘an exhilarating theatrical experience’ by Dance Europe magazine. In 2006 Amos left NDT to develop his own work, creating several works with Korzo Productions in The Hague.

In 2012 Amos co-founded OFFprojects, A collective of former dancers of NDT, Batsheva Ensemble and Emanuel Gat Dance. Their first full-evening production OFFline received rave reviews and was followed by the equally well received Might. In 2016 the group won the prestigious Dioraphte Dance Prize for their production Howl. Their latest production 60 premiered at Julidans festival 2019 in collaboration with ICK Amsterdam. OFFprojects regularly tour all over NL and Europe.

Amos composes the music for all his pieces as well as for other choreographers and he is the lead singer of the rock band Noblesse.
