19:00 - 20:00 - Ira Brand
Ways To Submit

Ways To Submit is an exploration of dominance and submission. How we give in, how we take control: physically, psychologically, sexually, socially. Through language, through the body, and through structures of power.

Ira has been trying to understand: What can a consensual, agreed, playing in these dynamics offer us? How might we practice other ways of relating to each other? What are the intersections between personal and political consent? And who has the privilege to ‘play’?

A fantasy, a game, a performance, a fight: a series of duets in which power is at work.

19:00 - 23:00 - Billy Mullaney (ongoing performance)
Never Never Never Ever Never Never Ever Never Ever Ever EVER Ever EVER Give Up Unless It Gets Too Hard

Never Never Never Ever Never Never Ever Never Ever Ever EVER Ever EVER Give Up Unless It Gets Too Hard is a durational performance consisting of the filming of a promotional trailer. The piece proposes an all-in investment into “cultural capital”, privileging the development of web presence over the performance itself. Witnesses to the process are invited to enter, observe, leave, and return throughout the evening. NNNENNENEEEEEGUUIG2H follows Sianne Ngai's "Theory of the Gimmick" as an organizational principle, updating the arch logic of Villiers de l'Isle-Adam's "Glory Machine" for the digital age, to produce what Slavoj Žižek calls an "over-orthodox" conformity with contemporary standards of success in our modern neoliberal hellscape.

20:30 - 21:30 - Annefleur Schep
IOOTCP – Cultural Night on the topic of Polish Ethnographer Bronislaw Malinowski

I would love to be Polish. Two men have talked me into bed by asking me if I was Polish. Nothing flatters me more than being perceived as Polish. G. has told me twice now that I could pass as a Polish woman and it gives me a warm feeling in my stomach and chest and makes my cheeks glow. The day before yesterday I made a slip of the tongue. I proposed to M. and G. to go on a walk, a walk exclusively for Polish girls. Luckily, they didn't hear what I was saying. Halfway through the sentence I realised what I was about to say and lowered the volume of my voice. My slip was that for a second I had actually thought that I was Polish too; I considered myself one of them. And then immediately I was thrown back into reality.

22:00 - 23:00 - Brogan Davison
The Brogan Davison Show (Extravaganza!)

The Brogan Davison Show is a solo stand-up performance that plays with the vulnerable relationship between a performer and their audience. Standing alone onstage Brogan Davison - a socially awkward, mentally-fragile English women - reveals her more unflattering sides in a perhaps desperate attempt to give the performance of a lifetime. As hilarious as it is sincere, this event is a grandiose, naive and absurd attempt of a lonely human to connect to world and the people within it.

22:00 - 23:45 - Samara Hersch
Body of Knowledge

Body of Knowledge is a creative collaboration between a group of teenagers and a team of artists, initiated and directed by theatre-maker Samara Hersch. The project explores how to have complex conversations about sex and the body in ways that are empowering, driven by real curiosity, including questions of boundaries, shame, healing, consent, pleasure, ageing…
