About Eva
Eva Saladin studied modern violin with Kees Koelmans and baroque violin with Lucy van Dael at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In 2013, she completed her master's degree in baroque violin at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Leila Schayegh summa cum laude. While studying in Basel, she studied historical improvisation intensively in the class of Rudolf Lutz. Today, she lives and works in Basel as a freelance musician. Her work consists of orchestral projects, recitals and chamber music with a repertoire from 1600 to 1850 and a focus on historical playing techniques and styles, ornamentation and improvisation. Besides her solo performances and her own Ensemble Odyssee in Amsterdam, she is concertmaster of La Cetra Barockorchester Basel and Gli Angeli Genève and plays with ensembles such as Collegium Vocale Gent, Il Profondo, Profeti della Quinta, Il Gusto Barocco and Capricornus Ensemble Stuttgart. She is also active in free improvisation, performance and musical theatre. In 2021, she was Artist in Residence at the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht. Furthermore, she performed at the Festival de Saintes, Festival Lanvellec, Festival d'Ambronay, MAFestival Bruges, Les Nuits de Septembre, Händelfestspiele Halle, Thüringer Bachwochen, Barockfestspiele Bad Arolsen, Barockfestspiele Sanssouci, Festival de Verbier, Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik, York Early Music Festival, Crete Senesi and many others. Following her solo album "The Di Martinelli Manuscript" for Glossa, released in 2021, a complete recording of the violin sonatas op. 3 and 4 by Antonio Pandolai Mealli for Challenge Records. She recorded numerous other CDs for the labels BrilliantClassics, PanClassics and Resonando, among others.
