Final of the international competition for promising jazz talent from conservatories in New York, Basel, Amsterdam, London and Boston.

The Keep an Eye Jazz Award is an annual competition for exceptional talents from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and from a selection of comparable institutions in the United States and Europe. The theme of this 13th edition is ‘New Standards – Focus on Women Composers’; all bands arrange and play their own version of one of the seven selected pieces from ‘New Standards. 101 Lead Sheets by Women Composers’ curated by Terri Lyne Carrington. Participants can win great prizes that give a boost to a professional career as a jazz musician. The jury consists of international musicians, teachers and professionals from the cultural sector. The Keep an Eye International Jazz Award 2023 is made possible by the Keep an Eye Foundation in collaboration with the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

This year’s participating schools are Manhattan School of Music (New York), Jazzcampus der Hochschule für Musik FHNW (Basel), Royal Academy of Music (London), Berklee Global Jazz Institute (Boston) and course the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (with two bands, which will be selected during two semi-fnals on April 11 and 12, 2023).
