In this lecture, Vesic narrates the story of the solidarity between the Yugoslav people and the people of Latin America. The lecture uses a "spiral montage" of archival and living voices, as well as blank spaces. It covers several key elements including the alternative institutional framework of the Student Cultural Center, the Non-Aligned Movement as a driving social force, the voice of Milo Petrovic (editor of the Tribune Program), members of the 'Salvador Allende' muralist brigade, the Neo-Avant-Garde artistic community working at SKC, the post-socialist and nationalist-revisionist environment in Serbia that led to this history being forgotten, and the performative action of contemporary artist Darinka Pop Mitic, who revitalized in 2005 the faded mural created Muralist brigade ‘Salvador Allende’.

Jelena Vesic (PhD) is an independent curator, writer, editor, and lecturer. She is active in the field of publishing, research and exhibition practice that intertwine political theory and contemporary art. Vesic is co-editor of the journal Red Thread (Istanbul), a member of the advisory board of Mezosfera (Budapest) and president of association of art critics AICA Serbia.

Vesic curated many exhibitions, among them Lecture Performance (MoCA, Belgrade and the Koelnischer Kunstverein, 2009/10) as well as thecollective exhibition project Political Practices of (post-) Yugoslav Art (2009), which critically examined art historical concepts and narratives on Yugoslav art after the dissolution of Yugoslavia. Her recent exhibition In Collectivising (MG, Ljubljana, 2022) observes feminist interventions intothe art-historical narration on the 20th century avant-garde art collectives.
