In collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Agency (Minister of Education, Culture and Science) the Reinwardt Academy invite you to join us at the Final Presentations of the 2021 edition of the Sharing Stories on Contested Histories training programme. During this event you’ll be witnessing the result of a two week training focused on sharing experiences and exploring approaches and tools to present complex histories from multiple perspectives.
What to expect
Heritage professionals from over 11 nationalities will share their learnings and reflections in four young teams. Their presentations will mainly focus on the current exhibition of the Rijksmuseum ‘Slavery. Ten true stories’. This topic is the leading case study for the 2021 training.

Sharing Stories on Contested Histories is a two-week international training programme for museum professionals organised by the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands, in collaboration with the Reinwardt Academy (Amsterdam University of the Arts). The third edition takes place from 11 to 23 April 2021.
This training originates from the need to gain more knowledge and experience with engaging with contested heritage. It explores approaches and tools available to present contested heritage from multiple perspectives. Sharing Stories on Contested Histories aims to contribute to the international dialogue about and practice of navigating complex stories in complex times.
