Xiangming Niu is a composer specializing in music for film, theatre, and concert, based in both Beijing and Amsterdam. She holds a bachelor's degree in Classical Composition and Film Scoring from Berklee College of Music, where she received the Georges Delerue Memorial Award. She continued her master’s studies in Composing for Film at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Netherlands Film Academy.

During her master’s studies, Xiangming composed music for several short films, including Vaderland (Joey van Eykel, 2024), Het Beste uit het Westen: A Potato Western (Floris van Doorn, 2024), kus kus beng beng (Ollie Launspach, 2025), and SUGAR (Rosa Lackroy, 2025). She also scored the animated short Moksha (Joey van Eykel, Jeroen van Duijvenbode, 2025), with music recorded by the FAMES Orchestra in Skopje.

Outside of her academic work, Xiangming contributed additional music to the Chinese feature film Her Story (2024) and composed for the short film Cocoon Lover (2024), as well as the Vogue commercial short film The Colors of Summer (2023).

In addition to her work in film, Xiangming is an active theatre composer. She has collaborated with major institutions such as the Beijing People’s Art Theatre and the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center on several productions, including Beneath the Red Banner (2022), Be Seen (2023), Hamlet (2024), and Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus (2025).
