(Biography updated on 9 February 2022)
Dion Rosina (born 1991) makes oil paintings based on images he collects and manipulates, from which he creates collages. By drawing on existing images and carefully sampling them, Rosina makes his works into a harmonious whole. For instance, he references works by Albrecht Dürer and Emory Douglas. Rosina is inspired by various subjects such as spirituality, alienation and history. His work balances between figuration and abstraction.
His graduation project was one of eleven graduation projects nominated for the AHK Eindwerkprijs 2021, the Graduation Award of the Amsterdam University of the Arts.
