Kick-off AHK Starterscafé season 2023-2024

An inspiring and motivating Kick-off in the AHK Culture Club kicked off the 2023-2024 season of the AHK Starter Café last Monday.

The Kick-off is the moment for teachers, staff and study leaders to meet each other, discover the upcoming course programme of the AHK Startercafé and engage in a conversation with each other about entrepreneurship and the current trends and developments on the topic of entrepreneurship within art education.

Co-creation in education
Anthony Heidweiller, the deputy director of ATD, sparked thoughtful discussions with his welcoming remarks about under-creation and pass-through. Annet Lekkerkerker, the chairman of the board, participated in a panel discussion alongside Eefje Aarts, an alumna of Production Performing Arts and an executive producer, and Lobke de Boer, an alumna of Film Academy and the owner of the casting agency Lobke de Boer. Joska Spruijt from KAOSPILOT, a Danish academy for creative leadership and social entrepreneurship, delivered a brief keynote and motivational workshop focused on co-creation in education. The evening concluded with a shared drink, and visitors stayed for an extended period, engaging in conversations about the discussions, activities, and insights of the evening.

Lessons learned van deze bijeenkomst

  • The motivation to learn arises when you hit a roadblock and feel the need to solve a problem yourself (through design). You take the initiative, and you grow.
  • Entrepreneurship is also about giving space to the voices (the 'stinky fish') in your head that exist, the resistance.

Here are some thought-provoking questions to take home:

  • What is your unwanted voice in your head - your 'stinky fish,' and why do you resist it?
  • How and when did you discover the entrepreneur within yourself?
  • What do creativity and entrepreneurship have in common for you?
  • When do you feel entrepreneurial or like an entrepreneur?
