How do you convince your audience with your story? A great presentation has more to it than a few PowerPoint slides with great aesthetics, whether you are pitching your idea in 11 seconds or need to hold a discussion on a high level.
What will you learn?
If you can use your enthusiasm and your unique qualities in the right way, your audience will listen to you. After this training course, you will approach every presentation full of confidence. You will be given useful tools for communicating your message in a convincing way.
Convincing Presentation Skills in five session
The training course Convincing Presentation Skills consists of five sessions on a Monday evening. This training course is an exclusive training course, which means you are invited to participate in all five sessions in a small, fixed group. Sign up quickly because there are limited places available. The language of choice for this training course is Dutch.
The programme in five sessions
What is your posture during a presentation or discussion? What effect does that have on you and your audience? During this training session, you will discover how you can use your body to convey a message.

How do you make an impact by using your story? How do you structure your message and how do you prepare yourself to deliver it? You will put the skillset you’ve learned into immediate practice. That will give you a solid foundation to build on.

How do you connect with your audience and how do you use the physical space? In this third lesson, you will learn how to connect with your audience. How do you direct their focus and to use the space to your advantage and make it your own.

How do you use your voice powerfully? How do you deliver your story and how does your breathing impact your message? In this lesson, you will learn to use your voice and breath properly. As a result, it will be easier and more enjoyable to give presentations.

Enthusiasm is contagious, your audience will catch on quickly. The most enjoyable stories are the stories that you tell with your heart and soul. In this final lesson, you will learn how to harness that and to trust in its power.

About the teacher Marjolein Roeleveld
Marjolein Roeleveld pays attention to you as a person. That is the power of her training courses in presentation skills, which focus on individuality, physical awareness and making contact. Marjolein studied at the Amsterdam University of the Arts (Academy of Theatre and Dance). She obtained her ‘Theatre in Education' Bachelor’s degree in 2005 and graduated from the Mime study programme in 2012. She subsequently performed with various theatre companies. Marjolein now makes her own shows and she develops training courses on presentation skills, such as this one.
About guest teacher Astrid Rose
Authentic stories make a difference! That’s Astrid Rose’s motto. She is happy to teach you how to tell and structure a powerful story. Astrid is Head of Development at the ELJA Foundation and before that worked as Head of Marketing & Communications for the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. She still teaches presentation techniques and storytelling there. She offers training courses on presentation skills under her own company RoseFountain. Astrid is guest teacher for session 2: ‘Tell a clear story’.
Free workshop:
This workshop is free for students and recent graduates (after 2021). AHK alumni who graduated before 2021 or external visitors are also welcome! The corsts for them are €75.
