Connect to WiFi with an AHK account or as a guest
All academies of the AHK have two WiFi networks in use: eduroam and AHKGuest.
Eduroam is intended for students and staff with an AHK account, as well as guests with an account from another college or university.
AHKGuest is meant for all other visitors. They can get a temporary connection to WiFi at the AHK.
General instructions
To log in to eduroam, you need to apply the following settings:
Username: initial.lastname@ahk.nl (example: j.jansen@ahk.nl)
Password: the password of your AHK account (the one you use to log in to MyAHK)
PLEASE NOTE! When logging in to eduroam, keep the following in mind:
- The username for eduroam always ends in ‘@ahk.nl’, even if you are a student (not @student.ahk.nl).
- If your username contains a number, such as j.jansen02, this must be included when logging in to eduroam (example: j.jansen02@ahk.nl).
Once you are connected to eduroam, you can automatically use eduroam at thousands of colleges and universities in over 100 countries worldwide.
To find an eduroam hotspot outside of AHK, you can use this official eduroam hotspot map.
Forgot your password?
After changing your AHK password, you will need to reconfigure eduroam on your devices. See the instructions on the side, which describe how to do this for each operating system.
AHKGuest is intended for all visitors to the AHK who do not have an AHK account and do not have an account with another college or university.
These individuals can use the AHKGuest network.
- After connecting to this network, you will be redirected to a webpage.
- Enter your personal email address on this page. You will then have 5 minutes of internet access to retrieve the code sent to your personal email address.
- Enter the code on the webpage and complete the procedure. You will now have internet access for the next 24 hours. To regain access afterward, you will need to repeat this procedure.
- Note: If you are a guest who will need WiFi access for a longer period, please contact helpdesk@ahk.nl.
Tip: If you experience a slow WiFi connection (especially if you seem to be the only one), try turning off the WiFi on your device and then turning it back on. The WiFi adapter will automatically search for and connect to the strongest signal/Access Point.
