Constanza Gómez Guzmán, student master landscape architecture.

“After my graduation project in Mexico, in which I combined biology and landscape design, I came to Amsterdam to follow a pre-master, with the purpose of entering the Master in Landscape Architecture. I was drawn by the Dutch approach of designing with the principles of nature in mind. I also found acceptance here. There is a sense of open-mindedness, especially at the AHK. One of the most valuable lessons of this journey has been learning more about myself. In ecology there is this term, ‘ecological niche’, which means that every species living on this planet has a role, and we all function together in a network. The bees have this role, the ants have that role. I believe that when you find out what your part is, your ecological niche, it is easier to take on the challenges that you are presented with. You’re good at what you do, you contribute to society, and you are happy – what else do you need? This is what acceptance gives you.“
