Kaez Tjoe-fat and Luna Rolie, second-year students of Cultural Heritage at the Reinwardt Academy

Kaez: "We started our studies at the beginning of the pandemic and mainly had online classes. Luna and I got to know each other during meetings via Teams with all the class representatives. Luna is a ray of sunshine. She has a warm aura, she inspires others and her mind is so creative. I am more critical as a person, I keep an overview and check whether things are feasible. I think that's why we work so well together."
Luna: "We are both people who want to achieve something together and are willing to work for it. We do our best to bring a group together and create a pleasant atmosphere. Due to the lockdowns, we hardly saw our classmates in real life, and visiting museums was virtually impossible. Fortunately, there was an initiative within our year group to watch films together via Netflix Party. This made it possible for us to talk and connect with each other. This created a close-knit community. That really got me through the year. Kaez and I were elected ambassadors of the Reinwardt Academy. The school recognised that we show a lot of initiative. Together, we try to be a voice for all the students in our year group.
Kaez: "We are in a new curriculum with Cultural Heritage, which is still under development. Some students find this unpleasant. We have collected all the feedback and taken it to the study programme management. We don't want to just complain; we actively propose possible solutions and areas for improvement. We are all human beings, and rank plays no role in our group. We understand that the lecturers work very hard for us, so we also want to know how they experience their work and the new curriculum.” (interview: Marco Hohl)
