“We attach a lot of value to objects, to the things around us. Everywhere, the story being told is really about consumption. You see advertising everywhere; our buying behavior is constantly being triggered, both virtually and in real life. Supermarkets use psychology to make us keep buying and buying. Museums tell the other story. And I find that very important. That it’s not just the story of money that gets told, but also the story of the people. The stories behind the objects — those are ultimately more important than the objects themselves.”
