The purpose of the Master’s Degree Programme in Film is to improve the quality of (Dutch) film, by offering individual talent the opportunity to achieve further personal development in a setting that encourages further depth, breadth and innovation. In the two-year programme attention is devoted not only to reflection on film, film theory and film discipline (depth), but also to other art forms and relevant social developments (breadth), while researching the extent to which technological developments alter the nature of filmmaking and the film business itself (innovation). The programme is aimed at the maker’s personal professional development and adopts both an individual and research-based perspective.

Annually a maximum of fifteen students are selected. From 2011 onwards international students will be accepted as well. You need to have a relevant bachelor's degree, and will be selected on the basis of previous work, your motivation and a study or research plan.
