Six Capita Selecta lectures on material in architecture

Published on

The new Capita Selecta lecture series on material in architecture kicks off on Thursday 21 March. In 'The Hand of the Maker', six architects and designers will talk about their passion for a particular material, such as felt or bamboo, and the way in which they incorporate it their designs.

Craftsmanship has become an important aspect of architecture again. That is why architects increasingly position themselves as experts with a mastery of the materials they use in their designs. But materials themselves increasingly act as catalysts in the design process. ‘The Hand of the Maker’ is a Capita Selecta series on craftsmanship and the use of materials in architecture.

Date and time
The lectures are open to the public and take place at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture, Waterlooplein 213, Amsterdam. All lectures start at 20.00 hrs. and admission is free.
