Saxophone and percussion duo Sax & Stix have won the Grachtenfestival Prize 2012 on August 15. The duo, formed by saxophonist Eva van Grinsven and percussionist Ramon Lormans won performances at the Hermitage in St. Petersburg and the Grachtenfestival 2013. It is the fifth time that the prize has been awarded to Conservatorium van Amsterdam alumni: among former winners the CvA is also well-represented: saxophonist Ties Mellema (2007), violinist Lisa Jacobs (2008), Erik Bosgraaf, with his recorder/guitar duo Bosgraaf and Elias (2009), and soprano Judith van Wanroij (2010) have all graduated from the CvA.
