De Theaterschool production Een Poppenhuis has won the Ton Lutz Award for best theatre direction at the 23rd ITs Festival. Een Poppenhuis is the graduate production of Maren Bjørseth (Theatre directing), Marjolijn Brouwer (Scenography), Tom Vollebregt (Technical Theatre Arts) and Sanne Liebregts (Production and Stage management).
The jury of the ITs Ton Lutz Award was impressed by the lucid dramatization of Een Poppenhuis. Musically inspiring, magnificently designed, sexy, finely acted with a fascinating leading actress. According to the jury, director Maren Bjørseth shows herself to be a 'meticulous director with a well-developed sense of design, capable of highlighting personal themes in a frequently performed repertoire piece’. The jury recognizes in her a true director and is curious as to her next production. Bjørseth is expected to invest her € 4.500,- prize money on further developing her talent.
