VSCD Toneelprijzen for alumni of the Mime School and the Theatre Theacher Study Programme

The most coveted annual theatre awards were presented on Sunday 9 September during the Gala of the Nederlands Theater. Five alumni of the Mime School and one alumnus of the Theatre Teacher study programme were among the winners of the 2012 theatre prizes.

The most coveted annual theatre awards were presented on Sunday 9 September during the Gala of the  Nederlands Theater. Five alumni of the Mime School and one alumnus of the Theatre Teacher study programme were among the winners of the 2012 theatre prizes.

This year the VSCD Mimeprijs was awarded to  Jakop Ahlbom (who graduated from the  Mime School in 1998) with the production Lebensraum. According to the Mime Jury, Jakop Ahlbom has shown once again that diverse means can result in fantastic theatre. The VSCD Mimeprijs is awarded to the person or group who, in the view of the jury, has made the most important contribution to mime during the season in question.

The Theo d’Or 2012, for the most impressive leading female role has been awarded to Marlies Heuer (who graduated from the Mime School in 1978) for her role in Am Ziel realized by Toneelschuurproducties.

The production Aap en Beer (5+) by alumnus René Geerlings (a graduate of the Mime School in 1999) and Job Raaijmakers (who completed the Theatre Teacher study programme in 2001) /realized by   STIP theaterproducties was awarded the Gouden Krekel for the most impressive youth theatre production. The youth theatre jury characterized Aap en Beer as “a farcical comedy for children”.

Paméla Menzo and Anne van Dorp, both graduates of the Mime School in 2006, (Mtg. De Koude Kermis) were presented with the  Dioraphte Fringe Award for the production Florence Foster Jenkins.
