Simon van Holen to join woodwinds department

Simon Van Holen (1985) has joined the woodwinds department as double bassoon teacher. Simon studied with Gustavo Nuñez at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and at the Robert-Schumann-Musikhochschule in Düsseldorf. In 2011 he was appointed prinicipal double bassoonist with the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker and in 2012 he joined the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra as principal double bassoonist.

Simon studied with Gustavo Nuñez at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and at the Robert-Schumann-Musikhochschule in Düsseldorf, where he also joined the orchestra academy of the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker. He was also appointed principal bassoonist of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra. In 2011 he was appointed prinicipal double bassoonist with the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker and in 2012 he joined the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra as principal double bassoonist.
