International success for CvA trombone class

The trombone class of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, coached by Pierre Volders, has won the prestigious Emory Remington Competition. As a result, the trombone class has been invited to give a concert at the International Trombone Festival, June 26-29 in Columbus, Georgia. There is a personal success as well: CvA student Marijn Migchielsen is one of the finalists in the Donald Yaxley Bass Trombone Competition, also organised by the International Trombone Association. Runner-up is CvA student Rommert Groenhof. Both study with Ben van Dijk. The final will be held at the International Trombone Festival.

The Emory Remington Competition is one of the annual competitions organized by the International Trombone Association and draws trombone classes from famous music institutes such as Juilliard School of Music, Musikhochschule Hannover and the Curtis Institute participate. As a result, the trombone class has been invited to give a concert at the International Trombone Festival, June 26-29 in Columbus, Georgia.

There is a personal success as well: CvA student Marijn Mgchielsen is one of the finalists in the Donald Yaxley Bass Trombone Competition, also organised by the International Trombone Association. Runner-up is CvA student Rommert Groenhof. Both study with Ben van Dijk. The final will be held at the International Trombone Festival.
