The Matiss Cudars Quartet has won the Burghausen Jazz Award at the 44th Internationale Jazzwoche. The quartet, formed by Matiss Cudars, Niels Engel, Toms Rudzinskis and Lennart Heyndels, was awarded the prize for their ability as a band to tell stories and to enthrall the audience with every note, every pause. According to the jury, their strength is their well-balanced sound with a myriad nuances and a communicative way of playing.

Last year, the Matiss Cudars Quartet won the Keep an Eye Jazz Award.
