Violinist Liviu Prunaru to join CvA violin department

The CvA violin department is very happy to announce that violinist Liviu Prunaru will join the department as of September 1st, 2013. Liviu Prunaru (Craiova, Romania, 1969) has won prizes at major competitions, such as, in 1993, the Eugène Ysaÿe prize, the audience prize and the second prize at the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. This marked the start of a solo career that took him the world over. In 2006, he joined the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra as principal concert master. He plays a Stradivarius from 1694.
