Ad Welleman to join Classical brass department

As of September 1st, Ad Welleman, solo trumpettist with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, will join the Classical brass department. He will succeed Wim van Hasselt. Ad Welleman studied trumpet with John Taber en Peter Masseurs at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague and took lessons with Armando Ghitalla, Roger Voisin, Phil Smith and William Vacchiano in the United States. He is a member of the ASKO-Schönbergensemble, the New Ensemble and plays with many Dutch symphony orchestras, such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic and the Radio Phiharmonic Orchestra. As a soloist he performed works by Hertel, J.S. Bach, Haydn, Ligeti, Neruda and Shostakovich with various orchestras.
