Sedrig Verwoert wins Eurovision Young Dancers

Sedrig Verwoert, student in the Jazz- and Musical Dance study programme, has won the 13th edition of the Eurovision Young Dancers competition in Gdansk, Polen. Sedrig Verwoert won the title of 'Young Dancer of the Year 2013’ by performing ‘The 5th Element’, a piece choreographed by Marco Gerris, in the final against Felix Berning.

Sedrig Verwoert, student in theJazz- and Musical Dance study programme, has won the 13th edition of the Eurovision Young Dancers competition in Gdansk, Polen. Sedrig Verwoert won the title of Young Dancer of the Year 2013 by performing The 5th Element, a piece choreographed by Marco Gerris, in the final against Felix Berning.

On Friday 14 June, young talents from 10 European countries presented their own solo pieces during an exciting evening in the Baltic Opera and danced together in a group choreography. The jury comprising Krzysztof Pastor, Nadia Espiritu and Cameron McMillan chose Sedrig Verwoert as the winner of Eurovision Young Dancers 2013.

On 23 June, the competition will be broadcast on NTR podium, a show on the Dutch TV channel Nederland 2.
