The VSCD Mime prize is awarded to the person/group who makes the most important contribution to mime in the season in question. That can be in the fields of performance, direction, choreography etc. ‘Spiegel is moving and the spectator feels both fear of the deep darkness and child-like curiosity’, according to the mime jury. ‘Schweigman& sucks the spectator into the show and leaves him astonished and moved.’  The jury praised the unique collaboration, which has also increasingly ripened over the years, between the directing skills of Boukje Schweigman and the scenography of Theun Mosk, ‘which have contributed a unique voice to the Dutch theatrical world.’ The collaboration between Schweigman and Musk already started during their study at de Theaterschool.

Astrid van Eck received the Colombina for the most impressive female supporting role in Honingjagers (Honey Hunters) by Peer Wittenbols and Rob Lighthert. The jury had the following to say about Astrid van Eck: ‘Van Eck gives shape to her character of district nurse in an almost ethereal manner. She already manages to suggest a rich inner world just by the way she moves. She stands her ground in a vulnerable and brave way and is not concerned with all sorts of prejudices.’

The prizes were presented in the Stadsschouwburg theatre in Amsterdam on 15 September.
