Gabriel Smeets, artistic director of the School for New Dance Development (SNDO) will leave de Theaterschool as of May 1st. He will be the artistic director of the Cullberg Ballet in Stockholm, Sweden.

The Cullberg Ballet is a dance company looking for revitalisation and innovation. Gabriel will be commited to have young choreographers making work for the larger halls.

In the last seven years, Gabriel has secured the transformation of the SNDO to a bachelor of choreography. Additionally, he managed to strengthen the internationale position of the SNDO. In his own words, his mission has been accomplished. He is much looking forward to starting this new challenge.

However, it is a tremendous step in his career to become artistic director of the Cullberg Ballet, an international top notch company for contemporary dance.
