AHK obtains excellent results in Institution Quality Assurance Audit

Published on

The Amsterdam School of the Arts obtained a positive result in the Institutional Quality Assurance Audit. The Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) concluded that the AHK fulfilled all five standards: vision, policy, results, improvement policy, and organisation and decision-making structure.

In their advisory report, the external experts who visited the AHK on behalf of the NVAO stated: 'Both in relation to the vision on the quality of the institution and to the vision on leadership there is no sign of empty words, these visions are actually alive within the institution.' The committee also noted that 'an effort is being made in all departments to reap the maximum benefits for each student through individual learning pathways and capitalising on developments in the field'. Furthermore, they see 'a lot of attention for current trends and developments in the various, fast-changing fields of work'.

With regard to the testing policy, the committee determined that there was 'a deeply ingrained quality consciousness, as a result of which quality is "embedded", as it were, in the study programmes'. In terms of testing, they saw good and concrete examples of an improvement policy.
