Two CvA ensembles to play in Grachtenfestival Competition final

The Amatis Piano Trio and the Ebonit Saxofoonkwartet have reached the final of the Grachtenfestival Conservatory Competition.

The Amatis Piano Trio and the Ebonit Saxophone Quartet have reached the final of the Grachtenfestival Conservatory Competition. The final will be held on Saturday May 17, 13.00h at the Concertgebouw.

The Amatis Piano Trio was formed in 2013 by violinist Lea Hausmann, cellist Samuel Shepherd and pianist Mengjie Han. They study with Jan Wijn, Sven Arne Tepl and the Osiris Trio andparticipated in masterclasses with, among others, Anner Bijlsma and Ib Hausmann.

The members of the Ebonit Saxophone Quartet, formed in 2011, are Simone Müller, soprano saxophone; Dineke Nauta, alto saxophone; Johannes Pfeuffer, tenor saxophone, and Paulina Kulesza, baritone saxophone. They all study with Arno Bornkamp and are regularly coached by Baroque specialist Walter van Hauwe.
