During the close of the Graduation Show 2014 on 2 November, the four nominations for participation in the prestigious Archiprix were announced. Visiting critic Caroline Bos (UN Studio) reflected on the entries. Jet de Ranitz presented the public award.

Out of a total of 31 entries, four graduation projects were nominated for participation in the Archiprix 2015, including an alternative for social housing in Morocco by Abdessamed Azarfane and a beautifully designed hospice (‘in-between home') in Zwolle by Bart van der Salm. Both students recently graduated from the Master’s programme in Architecture. More than a third of the entries related to an assignment in the city of Amsterdam, with nominations for a revaluation of the designated use of Sloterdijk by urban planner Iris Wijn and a new scenario for the invisible world of alleyways in Amsterdam by Ivar van der Zwan (Master’s in Architecture).

Public award
This year, it was once again possible to vote for the public award on the website. With more than a third of the votes, the public award was won by the Italian landscape architect Simona Serafino. In her graduation project 'Scrigno d'Acqua' (water basins) she addresses the struggle with the desertification of the Salento region in the ‘heel’ of the Italian ‘boot’. The prize was presented by Jet de Ranitz, president of the Executive Board of the Amsterdam School of the Arts.

Archiprix
The presentation of the Archiprix will take place in June 2015. The winner of the Archiprix may also participate in the Archiprix International. The four nominees will receive a work allowance from the Academy in order to perfect the presentation of their graduation project. All graduation projects from the 2013-2014 academic year can be seen here.
