Xavi Torres Trio winner Keep an Eye International Jazz Award 2015

The Xavi Torres Vincente Trio of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam won the of the Keep an Eye International Jazz Award 2015. Second prize went to the band Tamara Lukasheva Quartet (Köln)

The Xavi Torres Vincente Trio of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam has won the Keep an Eye International Jazz Award 2015. The  Tamara Lukasheva Quartet (Cologne) won second prize.

The other prizes went to:
Incentive Prize: Liya Grigoryan Trio (Conservatorium van Amsterdam)
Best Wayne Shorter arrangement: Shai Golan Group (California State University, Northridge)
Best CvA soloist: Virxilio da Silva
Best non-CvA soloist: Shai Golan (California State University, Northridge)

The jury consisted of: Jules Buckley (Composer, orchestrator, chief conductor of the Metropole Orchestra)
Gerry Godley (Principal and managing director of Leeds College of Music; former director of Improvised Music Company (12 Points Festival))
Tineke Postma (Saxophonist; winner of the Edison Jazz National 2011; played and recorded a.o. with Greg Osby, Linda Oh, Dan Weiss, Esperanza Spalding)
Gijsbert Kamer (Music Journalist Volkskrant)
Ruben Hein (Vocalist, pianist; winner of the Edison Jazzism Public Award 2013; played a.o. with the Metropole Orchestra, Benjamin Herman, Oleta Adams and Jesse van Ruller)
Raul Midón (vocalist; guitarist; worked a.o. with Herbie Hancock, Vince Mendoza & the Metropole Orkest, Richard Bona, Marcus Miller and Dianne Reeves)
Ruud van Dijk (Jury chair (non-voting), head of the Jazz Department CvA)

The Keep an Eye International Jazz Award is a competition for outstanding young vocalists and instrumentalists from the USA, Europe and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
