Many 3FM Award nominations for pop students, alumni and teachers

Many bands and artists from the CvA Pop department have been nominated for a 3FM Award, a major pop music award in The Netherlands.

The bands Kensington and Dotan both have been nominated five times, Kensingon, with alumnus Niles Vandenberg, for Best Band, Best Album (Rivals), Best Live Act, Best Single (Streets) and Best Rock Artist. Dotan, with student Pepijn van der Burgt, has been nominated for Best Album (7 Layers) Best Pop Artist, Best Singer, Best Live Act and Best Single (Home).

The Common Linnets, with teacher Martijn van Agt, has been nominated for Best Band, Best Album (The Common Linnets) and Best Single (Calm After The Storm).

Typhoon, with student Mano Yeah, for Best Album (Lobi Da Basi), Best Hiphop Artist and Best Live Act.

Jett Rebel, with alumni Jelte Tuinstra, Rick van Wort and Amber Gooma, for Best Live Act and Best Rock Artist. Jelte Tuinstra has also been nominated for Best Singer.

Lucas Hamming, with students Lucas Hamming, Stijn van Rijsbergen and Thomas Veenstra, for Best Rock Artist.

Kovacs, with teacher Joost van de Broek, Sue the Night, with alumni Suus de Groot, Linda van Leeuwen and Tobias Ponsioen, and Sunday Sun, with alumnus Jan Teertstra, all have been nominated for Best New Act. Sue The Night and Sunday Sun have also been nominated for a Serious Talent Award.
