Matthias Havinga appointed church organist at Oude Kerk in Amsterdam

Matthias Havinga, organ teacher at the CvA, has been appointed church organist of the Oude or St. Nicolaaskerk in Amsterdam, the oldest church in the capital. Matthias Havinga studied organ with Jacques van Oortmerssen at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he graduated with the highest distinction from the master’s degree programme. Additionally, he studied piano with Marcel Baudet at the CvA and church music at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague with Jos van der Kooy and Theo Goedhart. As of september 2015, Matthias has been appointed assistant principal subject teacher at the CvA organ department.
