Sounds boring entrepreneuring, and sometimes it’s mistakenly combined with arts & culture, but we’ll give it a go. This January the 11th ACE Students (Amsterdam Center for Entrepreneurship) is - for the first time - organising an Entrepreneurs Cafe: Culture meets Entrepreneurship at the Theaterschool.
Entrepreneurs Cafe:
The last few years there has been several cuts on culture budget both governmentally and locally. Non profit culture and art companies are supposed to find other ways of income in order to create and be creative.
On the other hand lots of companies tend to put more time and effort in so called innovation or development departments. Some kind of creativeness is found to be more and more important over the last few years. Would this mean that these companies are looking for artists and creative people? How can commercial companies and non-profit profit from each other, that’s what we’ll talk about during the cafe.
We will try and give a broad insight on cultural entrepreneurship with several guest speakers. We can announce the first speaker: Arjo Klamer, professor Cultural Entrepreneurship at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Professor Klamer is known for his publications on economics and culture and has a strong opinion on this. He will be explaining the topic from a scientific point of view.
When: 11th of January 7pm for 7:30pm start
Where: TipTop, Theaterschool, Amsterdam
Don’t forget: cash for a drink
Language: English
The next speakers will be announced via our Facebook event Click here for more information
