In the the final of the Steinway Piano Competition, on April 3rd, Anna Kushinov (9), won second prize in category A (up to 10 years of age); Radu Ratering (11) won first prize in category B (up to 13 years of age), and Lucie Horsch (16) won third prize in category C (up to 16 years of age). All three study with Marjes Benoist at the Sweelinck Academy, the CvA’s national study programme for exceptionally gifted children.

On April 2nd, the semifinal of the Prinses Christina Competition took place. Manuel Sanguino (17) (photo), piano student at the Sweelinck Academy with Mila Baslawskaja, Mischa van Tijn (15), piano student at the Sweelinck Academy with Marjes Benoist, Alexander Warenberg (17), cello student in the preparatory programme with Monique Bartels, and Teresa Costa (18), flute, student in the bachelor's degree programme with Marieke Schneemann, won a place in the final. Mischa en Alexander also won the audience prize. The third audience prize was awarded to Tim de Vries (15), vviolin student at the Sweelinck Academy with Vera Beths.
Menno Verloop (13), violin, and Sasha Witteveen (12), double bass, Sweelinck Academy students with Lex Korff de Gidts and Peter Leerdam respectively, received an honourable mention.
