The Daahoud Salim Quintet, formed by students and alumni Daahoud Salim, piano; Bruno Calvo, trumpet; Pablo Martinez, trombone; Hendrik Muller, bass, en Sun-Mi Hong, drums, have won the ‘Sabam for Culture’ prize at the international competition ‘B-Jazz’ in Belgium. The jury was impressed by the classy level of their arrangement of the composition ‘Vertigo of the Fish’. The band also won the ‘Grand Priz Albert Michiels’ for their performance, where each member gets room to play and explore, their excellent arrangements and good msuical technique.
