New School Improvisation Ensemble winner of KAE International Jazz Award 2017

The New School Improvisation Ensemble (New School, New York) (photo) has won the Keep an Eye International Jazz Award 2017. First runner-up was the Casares Brothers Trio (Conservatorium van Amsterdam).

 

Bassist Kimon Karoutzos (Casares Brothers Trio) won the prize for best CvA soloist. The prize for best non-CvA soloist was awarded to Joel Ross (The New School Improvisation Ensemble). The Teis Semey Group (Conservatorium van Amsterdam) won the prize for best Contrane arrangement. The incentive prize finally was awarded to the Hardvoesh Thoralfson Trio (Jazz-Institut Berlin).
