Yang Yang Cai (Zutphen, 1998) has won the YPF Piano Competition Grand Prix Youri Egorov 2019. Yang Yang studies with Jan Wijn in the fourth year of the bachelor programme at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Carlos Marín Rayo (Madrid 1994), student with Frank van de Laar in the first year of the master programme, won second prize and the Audience Prize. The finalists performed Chopin’s Piano Concerto in f minor and the world premiere of a new work composed by pianist, composer and CvA alumnus Thomas Beijer.
