Prize-winning music video made by CvA alumni to be released online

As of today, 8 May, the  classical music video Do not sing to me, my beauty can be watched online on YouTube, Facebook and Vimeo. Many CvA alumni contributed to this video, made by director Marieta Landkroon. The song, composed by Sergei Rachmaninov and arranged by Thomas Beijer, is sung by Laetitia Gerards. The ensemble consists of Jelmer de Moed, clarinet;  Liese Claesen, flute; Eva van Haaften, violin; Margot Kolodziej, violin; Michiel Wittink, viola; Marcus van den Munckhof, cello, en Rebecca Fransen, double bass.

Do not sing to me, my beauty was premiered at the festival ‘Klassiek op het Amstelveld’ in Amsterdam in September 2018. The film has been selected to feature at nine festivals, including the Hollywood Women’s Film Festival 2019. Moreover, the video has won several awards; an award for Best Music Video at the Monthly Film Festival, and a bronze award for Best Cinematography and ‘honorable mention’ for Best Direction at the Queen Palm International Film Festival.

With this online release, the makers hope to reach a wide audience and spark interest in classical music.
