Vesna Petresin presents: Media + Imagination

How to immerse your audience in the experience of extended media (AR / VR / XR)?

The new technological developments in the world of VR and the game industry are becoming more and more important, but it is a major challenge for artists to apply this in their work and to involve themselves and their audience in real time.

From September onwards, artist Vesna Petresin (Artist in Residence of the AHK) will investigate with students and alumni of all the AHK academies how to create concepts for extended media. Vesna invites them to participate in a series of hackathon weekends in September and November, exploring how we can imagine and produce experiences for extended media, connecting different disciplines.

The hackatons take place:
Friday 20 until Sunday 22 September 2019
Friday 22 until Sunday 24 November 2019

On Thursday 5 September at 17.30h, Vesna Petresin will present her work and the hackaton series to interested students, staff and alumni during the HALF6-event at the Academy for Theatre and Dance. There will be time to ask questions about the planned hackatons.

Check out the ‘Transdisciplinary Atelier’ tumblr page for more examples of Vesna’s work and information about the hackatons.

On June 18, 2019 De Groene Amsterdammer published an article about the new VRAcademy at the Marineterrein. Read the article here (only in Dutch).
