Tjeerd Top appointed teacher of violin as a principal subject at the CvA ​​​​​​​

The Conservatorium van Amsterdam proudly announces that Tjeerd Top will join the strings faculty as teacher of violin as a principal subject. Okke Westdorp, Associate Director and Head of Classical Music: ‘We are very happy to have Tjeerd on the strings faculty. He will be a valuable asset to the teaching team.’ 

Tjeerd Top (1978), winner of the prestigious  Oskar Back Competition, studied at the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. He has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Holland Symfonia, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra and Camerata RCO. As a chamber musician, he performs regularly with the Vermeer Trio.
Tjeerd was appointed associate concertmaster of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 2005, and is in high demand as guest concertmaster with orchestras throughout Europe.
