From 26 June to 12 July the Academy of Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam will present its talented new generation of students during the re-CONNECT online live graduation festival. With a schedule that offers a varied programme of live theatre and dance productions, an exciting fringe line-up and talk shows, the online festival is the next best thing to a real live festival experience.

From disconnect to re-CONNECT
Imagine you as an aspiring director, choreographer, actor, performer, dancer, (technical) producer or designer are forced to graduate without an audience. Surely your worst nightmare. After all, live interaction is what you exist for. After the first blow of the imposed lockdown on 12 March however, graduates of the Amsterdam Academy of Theatre and Dance quickly pulled themselves together. From 26 June to 12 June, theatre goers can witness from the safety of their home, a variety of surprising new graduate performances created largely during lockdown. The festival allows each study programme to give acte de presénce to its own year group over the course of several days.

Programme
The festival's programme is still under development. The final programme of the festival can be found online from June 26!

Live talk show before and after a production
Before each production, a talk show host will welcome the online public live from our stylish re-CONNECT studio and interview young makers. Subsequently, you’ll watch a production together: a livestream from an auditorium in the academy or a previously edited presentation. After every performance, the talk show host chats with an expert second eye, the maker and the online public.

Keep an eye on our site for more fringe programmes. For example, join us for Oscar van den Boogaard’s emotive, in-depth interviews with five graduating directors of the Theatre Directing study programme (Mateusz Staniak, Rebekka Nilsson, Rosemintje Verpaalen Weijts, Stijn Dijkema and Lara van Hoof).
