During the seventh edition of the international piano competition 'Ciudad de Sevilla' in Spain, Juan Pedro García Oliva won the first prize. He won in the category 'C' (up to 25 years of age) with a jury score of 100/100. He is awarded with a performance at the festival, as well as participation in the recording of a compact disc to be presented at the opening concert of the festival.

Juan Pedro studies with Frank van de Laar in the second year of the bachelor's degree programme.
